Are you a fan of binge-watching fun series? Of course, who is not?
Watching different genre of series not only entertains you but also lets you experience a whole new world altogether. So many new doors open up; the beautiful locales of the country the series is set in, its culture, the language, the cuisine, fashion, and beauty. They definitely transport you to a country that you always wanted to visit!
In a way, the series let us travel to a new world and experience it all from the comforts of our couch/ bed/ chair and a streaming device! Here is a fun list of series that will help your lost case of wanderlust!
Country – North Korea
One of the highest-rated Korean drama, Crash Landing On You is a romantic drama with a background of the military. A beautiful business tycoon from South Korea accidentally lands into the demilitarized zone which ultimately leads to her falling in love with a North Korean soldier. The series almost accurately depicts the everyday life of North Koreans and gives a great insight into their culture, cuisine, and more.
Country – Spain
This series has taken the world by a storm, to say the least! Set in Spain, a group of talented criminals headed by an intelligent leader, ‘Professor’, pull an impossible feat of looting the mint of Spain. You can’t help but fall in love with the well-written characters while the clever twists keep you on the edge. By the end of the series, you may just end up learning the beautiful language of Spanish, or at least the song “Bella Ciao” won’t leave your mind.
Country – Germany
A science fiction, thriller series is set in the Cold War-era Germany. Strange disappearances of children are taking place in a small town of Winden, Germany which uncovers secrets and hidden connections between estranged families. The shooting of the series is conducted around the beautiful locations of Germany including in and around Berlin, Stahnsdorf, and Lake Wannsee giving us a gorgeous glimpse into the country.
Country – Finland
Crime drama lovers will instantly take to this series. When Kari Sorjonen, a respected agent of the National Bureau of Investigation moves to a small town for some peace after facing a tragedy in his life is up for a surprise when things start unfolding. The series is shot in the spectacular locations of Lappeenranta that leave you thrilled along with a strong storyline.
Country – South Korea
Based on a webtoon of the same name, the series follows the life of an ex-convict and his struggles of opening and running a street-side restaurant. The series was critically acclaimed for its brilliant storyline as well as perfect casting. Itaewon Class is a dramatic and sensory experience and is a peeping hole into the neon-lit streets of Itaewon. A special mention to the beautiful music that will make you fall in love with K-pop again!
Country – Italy
The best setting undeniably for a Mafiosi drama would for sure be Italy! A gang of newbie criminals set their eyes on a piece of land to make a mark in the underworld. They soon realize the game of Land Mafia is not as easy as they thought it would be. As you are enjoying a wild ride of the crime and criminals you are also treated with visuals of the beautiful Italian countryside and slow-paced life of the Italians.
