Plage du Ricanto

A beautiful beach located in the neighborhood of Marseille, France, is Plage du Ricanto. It is the southernmost beach of Ajaccio. It is also the largest sandy beach in Ajaccio. It extends for nearly 3 km. Note that this beach is equipped for people with reduced mobility during the summer season with an access mat (in the center of the supervised area). Also, the end of Ricanto beach is reserved for naturism (at the foot of the Capitello tower). This beautiful white sand beach is a nice location for a holiday. It was once the venue for the 2008 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. A lot of programs are conducted on this white sandy beach, including water sports. Despite the presence of the airport nearby, this beach remains pleasant, even in summer, because you can always find a place to put your towel.

What to do at Plage du Ricanto?

• You can indulge yourself in some leisure fishing and water sports.
• It has a designated area for kitesurfing. So get your equipment and go with the flow of the wind.
• One of the best sports to do here is to play beach volleyball with your friends any time of the year.
• Lovely stretch of sandy beach that went a long way. Besides the sandy beach, there are loads of wildflowers in protected areas beside the beach.
• Since it is so peaceful, you can opt for walking/jogging along the shore to keep yourself fit.
• It is a great diving spot, so go for a casual swim in the warm waters of the beach.
